Catch up & Hotel Information

We hope everyone had a Safe and Happy Holidays! We took a "break" from wedding planning from Thanksgiving through the first of the year.

We would like to take a moment to catch you up on what has been going on with the Hanson/Tucker family. In December, a week and a half before Christmas we moved into a house. What a crazy idea...to move THE WEEK BEFORE CHRISTMAS! I'm sure it was Joe's idea! Just Kidding. We are enjoying the space of having a MUCH larger home for all of us to move around in. We enjoyed "our" first Christmas together and had a quiet New Year.

After the New Year we decided it was time to get back to wedding planning, realizing that the BIG DAY was only 3 months away!

Now for what this post is really about. Hotel Information.

There are only 2 nice hotels in Porterville. We went to both of them to see what they could offer our guests. This is what we came up with:

Holiday Inn Express: PREFERRED

This is a new hotel that has been open for less than 2 years. It is the nicer of the 2 hotels and they are willing to offer a deal to our guests. They blocked off 30 rooms for out of town guests. They will hold that block until March 1st. They also offer a nice breakfast bar every morning. It also has a pool & Spa (you never know what the weather will be like in April here). Remember to mention our names when you call to get these rates.

The rates are:

King Bed-$99.00

2 Queen Beds-$110

King Suite-$110

Best Western of Porterville:

This hotel is a little older but has been remodeled a couple of years ago. They would not block rooms for us or guarantee a rate. When we looked into this hotel the rates for that time period were about the same price as the Holiday Inn's regular rates.

If you need more information about either hotel or are interested in not staying in Porterville, just contact us and we would be glad to offer up other suggestions.

Our invitations got here a couple of days ago and are scheduled to go out by the first of February. We hope to get some information about things to do in and around Porterville so you can make the most of your time here in our "little" town. Keep checking back with us for more info! We look forward to seeing everyone in April!
